Dog Friendly in Stonehaven

The thing we get asked the most is where can we go with our dog in Stonehaven – to eat, to stay?

One of the most popular things to do here is to walk whether that be along the beach, through Dunnottar Woods or along the coastal paths to either Skatie Shore or to the Monument and Dunnottar Castle (where dogs are allowed inside on a lead).

But where can you sit down and relax to have a well deserved cup of coffee or tea and a bite to eat? Here’s our recommendations:

COOL GOURMET – they absolutely love dogs here! You can happily sit inside with your dog and they even have home made doggie treats for your best friend. (High Street, Stonehaven AB39 2JP)

OLD PIER COFFEE HOUSE – delightful place right on the harbour with lovely views, fabulous coffee and tasty treats. (Old Pier, Stonehaven, AB39 2JU)

THE SHIP INN – Right on the harbour front, this 17th Century inn welcomes dogs in the bar. (5 Shorehead, Stonehaven AB39 2JY)

MARINE HOTEL – Also on the harbour front, dogs are permitted in the bar. (9-10 Shorehead, Stonehaven, AB39 2JY)

VILLA COFFEE SHOP – small dogs are permitted inside the tearooms at the discretion of staff (for a general size guide, if they can fit under the table, they are small!). Larger dogs are welcome in the garden. (13 Arbuthnott Place, Stonehaven AB39 2JA)

AUNTY BETTY’S – as well as their amazing ice creams, coffees & teas, Aunty Betty’s also sell home made doggy treats (Beach Road, Stonehaven, AB39 2RD)

DALRIADA – Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement at these luxury self catering lodges on the outskirts of Stonehaven, beside the golf course. (AB39 3RH). 

THE BEACH APARTMENT – Dogs are welcome with a small extra cleaning fee
