GB Ice Swimming Championship 6 and 7 December 2025

The Stonehaven (sometimes heated) Open-Air Pool is  excited to host the 10th IISA GB Ice Swimming Championships at the historic Stonehaven Open Air Pool on 6-7 December. This landmark event will see 150 competitors from 15 countries take to the icy waters of Stonehaven’s iconic seawater pool to compete in 15 events, ranging from the 50-metre freestyle dash to the gruelling 1,000 metre (1K) freestyle -, widely regarded as one of the toughest endurance challenges in cold-water sport.

We welcome spectators to watch this very special event at the pool, a different sporting event than we have ever seen in our pool. If you are not local to Stonehaven, come for a visit and then wander around the town for some Christmas shopping or a coffee and cake.

Notice for Cold Water Swimming Bookings: There will be no bookings going live tonight for cold water swimming on the weekend of 6th and 7th December, as the facility will be closed for a hire during that time.
